"I don't solve problems, I televise them" (JStO)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
the blasphemy debate rumbles on, plus some 'very big' news...
-----------------------------------------------------------------

MONDAY 21 FEBRUARY 8pm (2000-2100 GMT) *Holy Offensive*
in CHANNEL 4's Dispatches (UK terrestrial, satellite & cable TV)
"The flagship current affairs programme takes a timely look at
the conflict emerging from tensions between human rights,
religious observation and artistic expression. Reporters meet
those on both sides of the growing divide to discuss where the
lines should be drawn over such productions as Jerry Springer:
The Opera, and the play Behzti which was set in a Sikh temple."

FABER MUSIC TO PUBLISH *XL*
Conductor Simon Halsey "commissioned Antony to write a piece
designed to be a companion for Thomas Tallis's 40-part
masterwork, 'Spem in alium'. The idea behind the commission was
to resolve the problem of what to programme alongside Tallis's
piece, and what to do with the forty singers once they have been
organised!" As we celebrate the 500th anniversary of Tallis's
birth, it's a problem that many choirs and choral directors will
be tackling. 'XL', which "can refer to the text (Psalm 40), 40
voices, 'extra-large' or 'excel', has been triumphantly
successful; so successful indeed, that Simon recorded both 'XL'
and 'Spem in alium' [in surround sound] with the Berlin
Rundfunkchor for Harmonia Mundi."

For initial enquiries regarding buying or hiring scores of 'XL',
